Date: Tue, 5 Feb 2013 15:13:36 -0600 From: RAM Host Hello, At approximately 09:00 US-CST (15:00 GMT) one of our German vps nodes, vz60.de, experienced an outage. This outage was caused by the German Police acting on a Court order from Amtsgerichts Velden to seize the hard drives in the server. The seizure of the data on this server is a complete surprise to us - we were given no notice of a police investigation, or allegations of criminal activity, or otherwise from the German police, courts, or anyone at the datacenter. We have no idea if or when the hard drives will be returned. As it stands right now they are being held indefintely as evidence in a criminal investigation, and we are powerless to do anything about that insofar as getting the hard drives drives back. Unfortunately, any backups we had of this server were also stored on drives mounted in this server - those were seized by the German Police along with the primary hard drives. We are in the process of rebuilding the server now. All clients will need to execute an OS Reload once the new server comes online (which we expect to occur within the next 6 hours), and clients will need to restore data from their own backups, or otherwise proceed without their old server data. Clients on vz61.de are unaffected - if you are on that server please disregard this email.
