My clearest memory of the riverwalk is watching a morbidly obese white man in a Tasmanian Devil Looney Tunes t-shirt holding a leash connected to a harness on an obese latino toddler. The kid was just wandering around at the end of the leash while the morbidly obese man sat and stared into the unknown. It was a surreal picture, I couldn't help but stare. The world around the morbidly obese man didn't seem to exist to him. And the toddler just kept wandering about, casually trying to escape. Neither spoke a word or acknowledged anything around them. So I sat down to continue staring. 5 minutes, nothing changed. 10 minutes, nothing changed. 15 minutes and it was time for me to move on, I wonder if they're still there.
