So I'm driving for Uber right. I go and pick up this kid and start driving him home. He has a single earbud in and keeps glancing at me through the rearview mirror. After a minute of awkward eye contact I guess he finally mustered up the courage to strike up a conversation and asks "H-hey, have you ever heard of this band called Death Grips?". I told him no I haven't since I don't listen to metal. He lets out a really forced laugh and says "n-no they're not metal, they pioneered this subgenre called Industrial Hip Hop. Here I'll play you a song by them, you'll like it a lot!". He starts blaring this awful noisy Rap sludge through his phone speaker. I can barely even tell what the fuck is going on in the song. We're about 4 minutes away from his house now and he says "you're in my area! You know the first three numbers! G-get it? It's a reference to the song I played". At this point I'm just choosing to ignore him. For the rest of the ride home he just kept talking about when this girl named Jenny is going to die and I'm seriously contemplating calling the authorities. Anyways I dropped him off and he left a 1 star review and no tip. I can't even pick up anymore riders now because he fucked up my average driver rating. I hate my job so God damned much.
