You didn't even deny it. Besos, Gates, and Schmidt, is that you again? Look, the little millennial beat you to cheap VR. But we know y'all suck just as bad.
Complacent? I didn't even say I owned one, though I do. The level of data needed for this is insane. That is true of Teams (required for work), Android, and everything Amazon.
If you want, you can pay double and get a Valve headset. Valve is like Facebook for PC gaming, but not as big so privacy is slightly better but not really at all.
You might want to face the truth. The metaverse will be just like Teams over the next decade. It might not be Facebook that leads the pack, but they are throwing a bunch of money at it.
But this, "Facebook bad" for doing what all the other companies are doing is either propaganda or is the result of believing propaganda.
I saw an article last month about how evil Facebook was for studying how to get younger audience. It was likened to a cigarette company. Yeah, because companies that have video game consoles have done that kind of research.
Facebook is on top of the VR scene. The competition owns all the media outlets. How many articles have you read that say Facebook sucks over the last year from companies owned by Besos, Microsoft, and Google? How many politicians have you heard from that get donations from the same.
Don't get fooled by business media and their fights. Any major manufacturer and seller of these headsets are corporations that want your data.
If you ever find an open source headset with a good UI or a way to replace these OS with some sort of Linux for VR (that actually functions and uses like a Matrix protocol), please DM and I will be happy to switch. But who cares which evil corporate account we have to use on their closed systems, that is just silly.
